End of Life Choices

Oct 02, 2019

"End of Life Choices California (EOLCCA) was started by four individuals active in the successful statewide effort to pass the legislation legalizing medical aid in dying for terminally ill Californians. The founders recognized that Californians diagnosed with a terminal or chronic illness deserve comprehensive education about, and access to, all legal options concerning their end of life wishes and medical treatment. EOLCCA provides a platform for individuals to fully explore, discuss and make informed choices about  end of life options consistent with their personal values and beliefs.

EOLCCA is building a model statewide program, currently launched in Southern California, which provides volunteer advocates available to answer questions and provide personal support to anyone seeking to learn more about end-of-life planning. Client advocate volunteers provide guidance throughout the entire end of life process including: preparing Advance Directives, discussing unwanted medical treatment, when to consider Hospice or Palliative Care, or simply how to have conversations with loved ones or doctors about their wishes. In addition to individual patient support, EOLCCA provides informative sessions about the End of Life Option Act to organizations, retirement centers, colleges and universities, non-profits, and more.

Do Something Now - Using bikes to help with medical assistance and education

Oct 09, 2019

The program addresses the work of our NGO, Do Something Now, which is providing the means for children, orphans, schools and healthcare professionals to attend school or treat more patients. An example is: it will take a healthcare worker a full day to walk to a AIDS patient's home. with a bike, they can now see four patients in that same day. some children live several miles from the nearest school and have to walk. with a bike, their attendance becomes much more regular.

Visiting our National Parks

Nov 13, 2019

The National Park Services operates several hundred sites.  Most are National Monuments, National Historic Sites, National Battlefields, etc.  There are currently 61 National Parks.  Everyone is familiar with the famous ones, like Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Sequoia, etc.  We have found that  some of the “out of the way,” seldom visited ones, can be the most spectacular.  They’re not commonly visited mainly because of their remote locations.  We’ll have descriptions and photos of several of them.
